"The memories will forever remain etched in my mind when my elderly father exerted his strength to help me navigate stairs for almost two years, as I couldn't walk," said Nadzirah Ibrahim.

The story of Nadzirah, 31, being assisted by her father, Ibrahim Yeop, 61, in their apartment in Kota Damansara, caught the attention of netizens on TikTok, who praised the man's efforts in supporting his daughter on his own.

Sharing her story, Nadzirah mentioned that the video, a compilation of several recordings over the two years she was unable to walk, serves as a tribute to her father.

She explained that her condition resulted from a February 2022 accident that left her right thigh bone broken, preventing her from walking. She had to undergo four surgeries, including the latest one on February 1, as her bone became infected.

Nadzirah added that her father and mother, Maimon Isa, 55, cared for her in their apartment on the fourth floor, where there is no elevator.

"Dad carried me every time we went to the hospital for check-ups and treatment, stopping to catch his breath when we reached the second floor. Sometimes, he would continue walking straight to the fourth floor if he wanted to be quick.

"If he couldn't carry me, my brother-in-law assisted in lifting my wheelchair up the stairs," she said.

She admitted feeling guilty for burdening her father, even going to the extent of losing weight to make it easier for him to carry her.

"My father's body is thinner than mine, so I secretly reduced my food intake to lighten my weight. But when he found out, he scolded me and insisted that I eat as usual, assuring me that he could carry me. That motivated me to recover quickly.

"Nine months after the accident, I got married and lived with my husband (Umar Usman Mahamad Dom), who teaches at a school in Kuching, Sarawak, before returning to my family to continue treatment and surgery earlier this month," she said.

Nadzirah mentioned that she is currently in the recovery process and can walk with the help of a cane. However, her father remains steadfast by her side, always providing assistance, especially during challenging times.

"Their sacrifices are priceless, and all of this keeps me positive. Thanks also to the prayers of netizens for our family," she concluded.
