ALOR STAR: 'Hattem will be in our hearts forever'.

These are the words from friends of drag racer Muhammad Hattem Rashdi who passed away in an accident while participating in the Malaysia Drag Bike National ET Record Championship 2023 Road Tour 2023.

In a tribute video, ESR Motors, which Hattem raced for, showcased his previous races and performances for his friends, families and supporters. Hattem was seen as fully committed and passionate towards drag racing and even excelling in the sport. Thousands of supporters were seen attending his funeral rites, supporting him till the end.

"There are too many memories that we share with Hattem. Hattem has rendered us too many favours. Everyone loves Hatem. Why? Because he is nice to everyone. Hattem is good to his family and to his friends. Lots of people accompanied Hattem today.

"Hattem will be in our hearts forever. Let us pray for Hattem," the account of ESR Motors wrote.

The video which has been posted on Facebook has been making its rounds and garnered 3.5 million views, 9,800 shares and 8,800 comments. Netizens flooded the comments, expressing their sympathy for the loss of the young drag racer.

Hattem lost control of his motorcycle while performing at Speedway Taman Tasik Sultan Abu Bakar circuit. The Sports Ministry has confirmed that the event which took place over the weekend at Pekan, Pahang was an unsanctioned event.

He was initially taken to Pekan Hospital for further treatment before being transferred to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) due to his deteriorating condition. The deceased was buried at the Islamic Cemetery of Kampung Padang Lalang on Tuesday.
